Why Update?
Upcoming versions of FactorSoft will incorporate Microsoft’s .NET Framework. The Microsoft .NET 2.0 or higher must be installed on each FactorSoft workstation in order to use the new functionality.
What is .NET?
.NET is a back-end framework from Microsoft that allows applications—like FactorSoft—to interact more smoothly with information, PCs, servers, databases, and users. For more information about .NET, visit Microsoft’s .NET homepage: http://www.microsoft.com/net/default.mspx
What This Will Mean for You
The Microsoft .NET Framework requires minimum system requirements, both hardware and software. Because of this, FactorSoft will require those minimums (or higher) as well. For more details, visit .NET homepage: http://www.microsoft.com/net/default.mspx

Running the Update
The executable to update .net components can be found on our ftp server: dotnetfx.exe
Or you may download the original from Microsoft’s website.
Save the executable, then open it to begin the installation.

Before installing the .NET Framework 2.0, it is recommended that you close all other applications on the workstation.

Click the Next button to continue. On the End-User License Agreement screen, you may read through the licensing terms, then to continue with the installation, you must check the I accept the terms of the License Agreement checkbox, then click the Install button.

During installation, the application will display a progress bar as it configures the workstation.

If the Files in Use screen appears, close the applications listed in the grid to continue with installation.

After installation, you will be notified when Setup is complete. Click Finish. Restart the workstation at this point.
